Du bist erfahren mit "Wet Plate Collodion"-Fotografie, aber bist es leid, die ganze Chemie und eine Darkbox vor Ort herum zu tragen? Oder hast du keine Erfahrung mit "Wet Plate", läßt dich aber von den Einschränkungen der Bewegungsfreiheit abschrecken? "Dry Plate Collodion" könnte interessant für dich sein!
Obwohl "Dry Plates" viel weniger lichtempfindlich sind als "Wet Plates" (was sie im Allgemeinen für Portraits ungeeignet macht), können sie Wochen, sogar Monate vor der Belichtung (und entwickelte Wochen oder Monate nach der Belichtung) gemacht werden.
Im "Dry Plate Collodion Workshop" lernen und üben die Teilnehmer, wie man trockene Glasplattennegative herstellt. Obwohl es zahlreiche Ähnlichkeiten mit dem "Wet Plate Collodion"-Verfahren gibt, sind für die Herstellung von "Dry Collodion"-Platten zusätzliche Schritte erforderlich. Das Verfahren erzeugt Glasnegative, das der Herstellung von "Wet Plate Collodion"-Negativen sehr ähnlich ist (wie im Workshop Advanced Wet Plate Collodion gezeigt), im Gegensatz zur Herstellung von Positiven (Ambrotypes und Tintypes). Genau wie "Wet Plate Collodion" sind auch "Dry Plate Collodion" Platten handgefertigt und von werden selbst entwickelt, wodurch die gleichen Effekte und Stimmungen/Atmosphäre erzeugt werden, die für Collodion-Erzeugnisse gelten. Die im Workshop hergestellten Platten werden anschließend auf Salzpapier gedruckt.
Der Workshop findet in englischer und deutscher Sprache statt und ist auf 4 Teilnehmer begrenzt.

2. Tag | 13:00–18:00 Diskussion über die angewandte Chemie; Studenten machen weiterhin Negative; Demonstration und Praxis der Nachentwicklung und Intensivierung.
3. Tag | 13:00–18:00 Salzpapierdruck von Negativen.
Experienced with "Wet-Plate Collodion" Photography, but tired of carrying all the chemistry and a darkbox into "the field" with you to create images? Or do you have no experience with "Wet-Plate," but are put off by its portability limitations? "Dry-Plate Collodion" may be of interest to you!
Although "Dry Plates" are much less light sensitive than "Wet-Plates" (making them generally unsuitable for portraiture), they can be made weeks, even months, before exposure (and developed weeks, or months, after exposure).
In the "Dry Plate Collodion Workshop" participants will learn, and practice, how to make "Dry Plates." Although there are numerous similarities to the "Wet Plate Collodion" process, to create "Dry Plate Collodion" plates, additional steps are required. In addition, as the process creates glass negatives, the development of these plates is much more similar to making "Wet Plate Collodion" negatives (as taught in the "Advanced Wet Plate Collodion" Workshop), as opposed to positives (Ambrotypes and Tintypes). Just like "Wet Plate Collodion," "Dry Plate Collodion" plates are all hand-made and hand-developed, creating the same effects and mood/atmosphere for which collodion is embraced. The plates made in the Workshop will subsequently be printed on Salted Paper.
The workshop will be held in English and German language und is limited to 4 participants.
